The root of the issue comes from having too many that you cannot realistically give proper attention to. So, where should attention and focus go? To those you care about and share interest(s) with. Life is short; people we know and care about rely upon us, as we do them. So, why should we clutter our lives with those that distract us from those that are in most need of our attention? ~ Jared Dellinger
Be careful what you ask for. Define ‘better’ carefully. You could also argue that the people that are in your life right now are there to teach you something. Learn the lessons and those ‘wrong’ people will disappear as if my magic, until you do they will return time and time again under all sorts of guises. ~ Ruth Loffa
This includes the friends online. Many people have many friends. Ask yourself what value they have to you and whether or not they are helping you or holding you back from having real friends. I’ve made many friends online over the years, but a point came where attention from the real ones was being diverted. So, I chose to cut back, a lot. It was a liberating experience. While I remain open to friendships, they must have reciprocal value and purpose. I don’t care for wallpaper. Does anyone, really? Maybe a border. ~ Jared Dellinger

Never allow wrong people to enter your life again.
